A little rain did not stop several Conserve School students from participating in a night skating activity. Grad Fellows Bill and Julia led a group of eighteen students to the Land O’Lakes ice rink on Saturday night for some fun and games. The rain and lack of light was no problem for the students. Land O’Lakes’ Snowflake Ice Rink features a roof to keep the rain out and lights for the night.
Earlier in the semester, students learned the necessary ice skating skills during their Field Instruction class. Saturday night was a chance for interested students to practice these skills outside of class. The slippery surfaces brought an added challenge to the popular sports of wiffle ball and Frisbee, but students rose to the occasion and had a wonderful time.
