Conserve School’s second Food Committee meeting was held yesterday at Chef Scott Mcfarland’s apartment, complete with a home cooked meal and thoughtful conversation about what we eat here at school. That conversation fuels changes on upcoming menus. The food committee was set up by Chef Scott to give our students a voice about dining services at the Conserve School. People are passionate about food, and the gathering allows the group to talk about not only food on campus but foods that they are passionate about from their past. Scott and the kitchen staff will be starting a “Recipes From Home” program where they will highlight a student’s favorite recipe from home during a lunch.
Twenty-four students in three or four groups will take turns participating in Food Committee meetings once a week! Bon appetit!
