During the last day in Field Instruction class Conserve School students took advantage of a few inches of snow that fell earlier in the week. There were smiling faces everywhere I turned as students enjoyed sledding down the sledding hill on tubes and sleds. At times they stacked 2-3 people on the same sled, getting stuck halfway down the hill on the tall grass. This was a great end to a class that these students will remember for a long time to come.
Before sledding students created a hilarious skit that demonstrated what they learned to Field Instructors Bill Quade and Julia Dodd. Students used sleds, balls, baseball bats, and kites to demonstrate the outdoor skills that they mastered during the class. Their skit did an excellent job reflecting the variety of outdoor skills that students encountered during Field Instruction this semester.
