For the past three weeks Conserve School staff members have been preparing for the arrival of the next cohort of semester school students. One of the things they have been doing is practicing the skills that they will be sharing with the students. Last week Conserve School staff members including the graduate fellows from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point who are spending two years at Conserve School headed out into the woods of Conserve’s 1200 acre Lowenwood campus to practice their winter camping skills. One of those skills was building quinzees.
Julia Dodd (aka Coolia) made this YouTube for Cool Things in Nature, a video project that she shares with a friend. Thanks to Jeff Rennicke and Fran McReynolds for photos of the afternoon and evening.
