During teacher in-service training in January teachers had the opportunity to teach a room full of staff members rather than their customary audience of high school students. The presentations included many of the hands-on teaching techniques that the teachers use every day with their students in the classroom. This activity helped the Conserve School community to understand what CS4 students will be experiencing in their classes when they arrive. The presentation also served as a method for teachers to do an in-depth evaluation of one of their units, and to consider how this unit meets school-wide learning goals. The presentations gave residential life staff a better idea of what larger assignments the students will be completing during the semester and the type of support that will benefit the students most.
We can’t wait for the students to arrive this weekend!
Thank you Martha for contributing the photographs for this post.
