Conserve School Stewardship in Action

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Every Wednesday afternoon, Conserve School students carry out stewardship-related chores and activities at Conserve School.  Since all of our students are involved, we have several different activities going on at once. Last week Wednesday, students built frames for our apiary, began the large task of building hoophouses for our garden beds, baked bread and desserts for the evening meal, and cleaned maple sap collection equipment. Robert Eady (Science Teacher), Jean Haack (Stewardship Coordinator), Jenny Rihimaki (Food Service Manager), Elliott Schofield (Field Instructor), Kathleen O’Connor (Academic Dean), and Katie Connelly (Field Instructor) guided students as they learned how to use shop tools, handle kitchen implements, and follow recipes and plans.
