All Hands on Deck for Maple Syrup Season

Cathy Palmer, Conserve School Director of Outdoor Programs, coaches a visiting Land O' Lakes Elementary School student, who is hammering a spiel into a sugar maple.

Once the maple syrup season starts, it’s pretty much sap, sap, sap non-stop for the next few weeks. Here you can see staff members pitching in to empty buckets and boil sap one recent afternoon as well as Land O’ Lakes Elementary School students visiting to learn about the Conserve School maple syrup production process.

Conserve student William serves ice cream and Conserve School maple syrup to the Land O' Lakes Elementary School students.

Jon Ciatti, Field Instructor, and Nancy Schwartz, Art Teacher, watch as Robert Eady, Science Teacher, pumps sap from a collection barrel into a holding tank.
