In addition to participating in tournaments in the Midwest — and soon, the world championship tournament in Atlanta — the Conserve School Robotics Team has been volunteering in the community. The team has visited three different elementary schools in the area to teach the students the basics of Lego robotics and to guide them in creating their own simple robots.

The Robotics team has been spending many hours preparing for the Atlanta tournament by redesigning and rebuilding their robot. Last night, the team took a break during their practice time in order to visit our apartment for dinner. Conserve School students always seem to enjoy home-cooked comfort food, and last night they dug into roast chicken, mashed potatoes, cranberries, Caesar salad, brownies, and cinnamon pull-apart bread with gusto.
