Making A Splash

Post and photos by Jeff Rennicke

Shay takes the polar plunge.

To help support health and an active lifestyle in the northwoods, a group of Conserve students participated this weekend in the Bayfield Winter Carnival. The annual event includes a Polar Bear Plunge into Lake Superior, a 5 mile “Run on Water” across Chequamegon Bay, kitesurfing, dogsled rides, and more, all meant as a fund-raiser for the Bayfield Recreation Center. Here are some shots of our students, jumping in to help (literally).

Ben braves the icy water.
