Conserve School Students Help Out at Sled Dog Race

Conserve School neighbor Steve Bates took this terrific shot of sled dogs tearing down the trail this weekend in Land O' Lakes.

At the Three Bear Sled Dog Races in Land O’ Lakes this weekend, Conserve School students did everything from selling sweatshirts to holding dogs before the race to standing along the race route to help stop snowmobiles from crossing the trail while mushers were going by. Seven students volunteered at the races Saturday morning with four staff members and two students helping out on Sunday as well.  Conserve School students and staff have been a part of the dog sled race for the past six years, and each year the committee looks to the school to provide a great crew of volunteers.

The race is a success because of the strong partnership between the Three Bear Race organizers in Land O’ Lakes and the Wisconsin Trailblazers sled dog club.

A special thanks to Kath for being our roving photographer.
