Winter Wonderland

Big Donaue Boat Landing

Today was a gorgeous day.  Sure, the temperature this evening is – 4 degrees, and the day’s high temperature didn’t make it out of the single digits above zero.  In the northwoods, we call that “brisk”.  The snowstorm of the past two days has left us with about a foot of snow on the ground, and has clothed the trees and lakes in a mantle of white.  After some morning flurries, we were treated to a day of bright sunshine, which reflected magically off of the fresh snow.  After class today, many students and staff grabbed their skis, snowshoes, and snowboards to play in this winter wonderland.  Speaking of playing in the snow, tomorrow students and staff will participate in a day of outdoor activities, such as skiing, winter photography, sledding, snowshoeing into Sylvania, and a team “adventure race”.  It will no doubt prove to be a great way to end the week, and to enjoy and celebrate the beauty of winter.
