The Season’s First Snowstorm

Students walking to class at 8 am.

Several inches of snow are already on the ground at Conserve School and strong winds are blowing swirling sheets of snow past our windows. High winds and more snow are predicted for the rest of the day.

Although local schools are closed, we are functioning just fine on campus. Since most of our staff members live on campus, classes and activities are continuing as usual. The snowfall will make Friday’s Winter Trek activities that much more fun — sledding, skiing, snowshoeing, and the other scheduled activities all work much better with several inches of fresh snow.

I snapped a few shots as I walked into work around 8 am. You can see the dimness of the light this morning and the haze created by the blowing snow.
