Student Elves Get Busy at Conserve School Winter Craft Workshop

Megan and Graduate Fellow Anita Olson work with soap molds.

Saturday several Conserve School residents and staff members gathered at the Technology Center and, under the expert supervision of Nancy Schwartz, Art Teacher, helped students create holiday gifts for friends and family. As usual, the expertise and creativity of our community members — both adults and students — were impressive. Projects included wreaths and swags, decorative soaps, beaded ornaments and jewelry, gift boxes and books, vellum paper snowflakes, neck wraps and eye pillows, sculpy pins and earrings, t-shirt shopping bags, and Cloud Forest bracelets. Student turn-out was excellent, with almost every student on campus participating. The ambience was festive and convivial. Nothing is quite as satisfying as working side-by-side with friends to learn a new skill and make something beautiful for someone you care about.
